Freek Quartier
Animated Film & Series Director
After earning his Master's degree in animation at RITCS in Brussels, Freek Quartier built a versatile background on high-profile projects, contributing to the Oscar-nominated Brendan & the Secret of Kells and award-nominated title designs like De 16 and In Vlaamse Velden (SXSW).
Moving into visual development and art direction, he created unique visual styles across 2D, 3D, and live-action hybrid formats at GRID studio, winning Best Pilot at Cartoons on the Bay for Horrible Tales for Terrible Children.
Freek went on to direct the feature film and series reboot of the classic The Daily Fable, giving it a fresh modern look before its theatrical and Netflix releases. He then directed the sci-fi animated series Interstellar Ella, distributed globally by Aardman in over 150 territories.
Following his role as Art Director on the animated feature film Richard the Stork 2 , Freek co-directed the feature film Ploey 2.
